The New Crane School (初鶴一派, Hatsutsuru Ippan; Literally "School of the New Crane") is a marital arts academy reported to have been created in Age 821 by Tien Shinhan. The current leader of the New Crane School is the infamous swordsman and martial artist Banchō Hitogari.

History Edit

After the release of the book, Groundbreaking Science, which informed Earth's general populous of advanced martial arts and ki control, Humans took great interest in fighting. Years prior, Tien learned of Goku's triumph over Kid Buu through launching a powerful Spirit Bomb and concluded that even the strongest enemy could be defeated with a powerful enough spiritual attack. With his newfound belief, Tien Shinhan opened the New Crane School to educate the planet's new generation of warriors.

After his passing, a morally and spiritually corrupt martial artist by the name of Pao came into leadership of the school through extortion and lying. Having been taught by Tien personally, Pao proved to be stronger than any other member of the school and his rule was not spoken out against. It wasn't until the Gang Leader of the Ryūban, Banchō Hitogari, stumbled across the school seeking to rob them of any money they had. Pao mocked Banchō and as a show of force, slaughtered all of Banchō's gang utilizing the New Crane School's techniques. In an effort to redeem his pride, name, and avenge his comrades; Banchō challenged Pao for leadership of the school and after a day-long battle, defeated him.

Over time, the school's students would come to refer to Banchō as their leader and the true successor of Tien as many had come to see Tien's strength in Banchō.
